When you employ around three thousand people working in nearly fifty countries, introducing new technology is always going to be logistically tough. Of course, once you introduce that technology, you also need to provide training equally tough, and potentially more expensive than the technology itself.
That was the issue facing global organisation Niro A/S, which is headquartered in Copenhagen. Niro needed to upgrade around two and a half thousand desktops from Lotus Notes R5 to R6 and, at the same time, move nearly six hundred Microsoft Exchange users to Notes R6. Quite a challenge and potentially quite a cost.
Transition provided the answer, in the form of its technology tutorials ready to deploy e-learning. The tutorials are ideal for global skills upgrades easily deployed, low cost and a great way to learn. What's more, the tutorials are approved by Lotus under its Ready For' programme.
Niro which evaluated several leading e-learning solutions rigorously, over a five-month period, found that Transition's Lotus Notes tutorials were ideal. However, some changes were needed specifically to create a German language version for six hundred users. No problem. Transition handled the entire project, including translation of text, introducing German screenshots, quality control all within eighteen man days!
In addition, the tutorials were integrated with the Lotus help files and a customer navigator provided for people to quickly orientate themselves.
The tutorials were deployed on the Web and employees were invited to the learning via e-mail.
The end result? The project was a storming success terrific user uptake, and an effective and fast upgrade of users' skills. Not only was Niro thrilled with the results, the company was more than happy with the cost astonishingly less than five Euros per person, beating traditional training solutions for value hands-down. |
