St Mary’s Hospital, Portsmouth - Lectora – a healthy e-learning choice

Many organisations don't want to use third parties to develop e-learning programmes for them: they want to do it themselves. And why not? Today, we've all become accustomed to the kind of desktop publishing power that even word processors can provide.

St Mary's Hospital, in Portsmouth, was one such organisation. It wanted to develop its own e-learning materials, but wanted a tool which would be as easy-to-use as possible, since it would have to be used by many different types of hospital staff.

As St Mary's Hospital found, e-learning tools don’t come much easier to use than Trivantis’s Lectora Publisher. They should know: Lectora was chosen, via a rigorous selection process, ahead of other e-learning development tools. It’s cost-effective, powerful and very easy to use.

Transition helped guide St Mary's through its choice and ultimately won the contract to supply Lectora to the hospital.

Lectora has proved as easy-to-use as was expected. The hospital has developed several of its own e-learning programmes, and uses e-learning titles as part of a blended approach, mixing on-line training with classroom training/personal coaching with great effect.

This investment has eased the resources needed to induct around 2,000 new staff per year, by reducing classroom training by around 3 days per person. So, like we said - a healthy choice!
